The City & the City by China Miéville

5.0

Absolutely fascinating, and very well written. If all Miéville's books are like this then I've just become a huge fan. I bought another of his books, Un Lun Dun, before I even finished this one, since I love books about London, too.

I was listening to the audiobook read by John Lee, and I wish I hadn't. The book is a bit complex, especially at the start, and John Lee doesn't do a great job of distinguishing between character voices, and when the main character is talking or just thinking (it's a first person perspective). I'll probably give it a reread in text form at some point so I can see what I missed.
