Spice Rating: 🌶️ / 5

Going into this, I was worried it'd be the exact same plot as the first book in the series, but there were still some twists I didn't see coming!

My Summary: Millie has struggled to find a new employer who doesn't run a full background check on her. She finally does find a job with the Garricks, but once she starts cleaning for them, she realizes something is a little off about the couple. Millie has never seen the wife, who supposedly is sick and doesn't want to be disturbed, but once Millie starts to hear the husband possibly abusing his wife, she starts to become concerned and takes things into her own hands.

My Thoughts: Some parts of The Housemaid's Secret were predictable (just based on the first book in the series as well as the other Freida McFadden books I've read), but there were some twists and aspects of the story that I didn't see coming. Overall, this is a fast-paced book that fans of Freida McFadden will definitely appreciate and fly through.
