This is a collection of three marvelous books about three children: Joe, Beth, and Frannie. They have many adventures in the Faraway Tree which is a magical tree. Every day, there is a new land such as: The land of dreams (you do not want to go there, it is a very dangerous place because you can get stuck forever in your constant naps), The land of Take-What-You-Want (it is a lovely place where you can get anything you want without paying. Quite a nice place if you ask me, I would take all of the books that interest me and that I can carry), Rocking land (a land that is constantly rocking around, you could roll around all day there, you need cushions not to get bruised all over!), and the Land of Birthdays (the place where you can have the best birthday ever, it gives you presents that you have to catch because they have legs to run around with, a cake that grants you a wish when you eat your slice , fancy clothing to wear, and bring home, and a delicious feast that you just need to ask the birthday girl to wish for) - by the way, this month my birthday is coming up. I wish that I could go there too! In the Faraway Tree, live many people such as Moon-Face (a person with a bald head as round as a moon), a Fairy called Silky because of her beautiful, golden, silky mop of hair, the Angry Pixy that gets very mad at you if you peap or look at him through his window in the trunk of the tree, Mr. Watzisname, a man with a very long beard that is almost always sleeping (if you wake him up in the middle of his nap you should run! He gets so mad to chase you until someone cheers him up, and then he falls asleep again), and last of all, you must look out for Dame Washalot's dirty washing water which pour down from her window every now and then because she is always washing, it is her number one favorite thing to do. And those are all of the people that live in the Faraway Tree. Oh, and did I mention that the Faraway always grows different fruit, nuts etc, on different levels? Well, it does. Although all of these people and lands are lovely, one of my absolute favorite things about the Faraway tree is that Moon-Face built the slippery slip. This is a slide inside the trunk of the tree that goes from Moon-Face's house to the bottom of the tree. You simply have to put a cushion under you and then slide down to a moss covered piece of earth. It always feels so magical reading this book, and I love talking about all of its stories and characters.
