Great cover and the book has a sexy chief of police, so it got shoved higher on the TBR list.
Cassie is an undercover cop and unfortunately there is a hit out on her so she and her trusted ex K9 dog jump into a car and get moving. In a small cozy town she bumps into very sexy Mike, who later turns out to be the chief of police. Taking a job as a chef in the local restaurant (as cooking instead of policing is her dream) was it the plan, but eh.
Mike is a great character and the pacing of the story is good. I do think Cassie is a bit of a TSTL heroine and not much of a cop and the bad guy was really obvious. He was mentioned a zillion times in casual conversations and stuff.
However, I did like the writing, setting and such of the story.
