The whole he's hitting rock botton because of he's so in love with another girl , then his other ex comes in to try to help him and him using her to distract himself from the girl he trully loves and it being described as love and romance was not it for me , not believable at all.

He loved the other girl and im sure he still did , the fmc was more of a distraction than anything and if the other girl came back from the dead he'd drop paige in 2 secondes. Now i get it , losing somebody we love is very traumatizing especially if they died and if paige was there for him emotionally as a friend it would have been a wonderful book but no he literally used her as a replacement to numb his pain for The Other Woman .
The whole calling her his soulmate was funny because who would believe that ?when he's in love with someone else the entire book.
Also i hated the mmc he's a shitty person despite all his issues, i liked paige though she deserved better.
Tackling all the issues and addiction and the mental state and self destructive cycle he was in was good i like when authors adress it well , but the romance was not romancing and the second chance shouldn't have happened .
