 I really enjoyed Lights Out, so I was super excited for Caught Up. Unfortunately, I was let down by the storyline. Although there were good points throughout the book, I still found the story lacking the same energy from the first book. I know people complained about this book being "woke", but I actually didn't mind the small details for inclusion. I enjoyed that one of the FMC's friends used the "they/them" pronouns. My real issues with the book was this was listed as a Dark Romance and in my opinion I would say it's very tame. Stalking was so minor and other than possessiveness, I didn't really get a whole lot from the Dark Romance vibe. This book does end to set up for another book, I won't ruin the character who it is set to follow. But I will say, I'm not impressed and will most likely end my journey here.
