Precinct 13 by Tate Hallaway

3.0

Alex Conner is a newly minted coroner with a bit of baggage when it comes to magic. She's determined to believe that it doesn't exist and the anti-psychotic medication is there to back that theory up. Too bad she's proven wrong when the man she was in the middle of doing an autopsy on walked out on her (his liver in hand, no less).

The book was surprisingly light in places, the opening made me laugh out loud and there were a few lines that were really well done. It wasn't as neatly tied together as it could have been, and there really were some bits that seemed unnecessary--like the cow story line, and the red herring. But other than that it was a quick read, and I enjoyed reading it.
