The Running Grave by Robert Galbraith
5.0

Gripping, and genuinely unsettling - I tried to slow down when reading, but couldn't because, in many places, it's so tense and nail biting that you NEED to know what happens in order to sleep..!

The actual crime/mystery is her worst and most harrowing yet, and I thought I had it all figured out *numerous* times - I did not have it figured out at ALL. It was a sprawling investigation, to the point that Lula Landry seems like a distant memory and massively small-fry.

The character development was strong, with almost no respite for Robin and Strike within and outside of work (it was actually relentless, you felt exhausted for them).

I think after Troubled Blood this was some of her more accomplished writing.
