The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson

5.0

I devoured The Space Between Worlds in less than a week (which is impressive for me), and absolutely loved it!

This is a story about travel between parallel universes, class stratification, empire (both in the corporate sense and the more traditional), family, identity, morality, death, and the struggle to survive. The protagonist is a queer woman of colour. It is a masterfully executed debut novel, and I cannot wait to read whatever Micaiah Johnson publishes next.

CW for abusive relationships (I can’t recall any sexual assault but there may be some implied).
