Davi doesn’t actually loop time at all in this one and, unless I missed a line somewhere, the random mid-life reboot from the end of book 1 is never explained. Perhaps Cyrus just went back to his cave lab to run things back that short bit?

The pacing was odd and Tsav developed into a bit of a one dimensional (though loving and thoughtful) therapist, sorry, lover/partner for Davi to whine at endlessly.

The main thrust of getting Davi to see people as more than pieces in a huge chess game was nice to see develop but wow is there still a lot of war and death still even as she tries the more “peoples has feelings too” approach.

The ending felt a bit rushed and very Matrix/Hollywood (as if it was written with being eventually of the Big Screen was top of mind.

Oh and baby bitey toddler princess is never on-screen.

Was a solid finish but not “couldn’t put it down”.
