The Revolution of Birdie Randolph
by Brandy Colbert
Really fantastic, realistic YA fiction. I read it through quickly, loved the diverse characters and the twists and turns of the story. Dove (Birdie) is a protagonist I could easily identify with - trying so hard to please others, particularly her mom, which coming of age and having some normal pushback against the very high expectations. A parent's push for perfection from their kid is often what makes them push back harder.
