Becoming Abolitionists: Police, Protests, and the Pursuit of Freedom by Derecka Purnell

challenging hopeful informative medium-paced

5.0

Partly a memoir of her thought journey regarding policing and partly instructional and inspirational. I thought at the end there wasn’t enough emphasis on how communities can provide elder care (lots on child care) but that might be a reflection of where she’s at in her life. But definitely worth reading if you want to understand abolition in the 21st century. Would read again.
