Wicked in the Pines by L.R. Friedman

5.0

This was my first run-in with L.R. Friedman's writing, and WOW, why did I wait so long to check out her work?

Wicked in the Pines is a spicy, delicious, small-town, single mom, why choose with MCs that aren't 19! I loved that Oakley, our FMC, was set in her 30s and dealing with the mental and physical aftermath of becoming a mom for the first time. While it was hard to mentally revisit those thoughts (having experienced them myself), I loved seeing Oakley's growth through those feelings with the help of our amazing MMCs.

As with any good why choose, Lynx and Saros connect with Oakley on different levels and seem to know the best ways to care for her in their own way. All while having their own dynamic. 👀 We love to see it.

The ending had me instantly wanting to pick up the second book (out soon!) to find out how the story would continue. Absolutely five stars for LR Friedman!

(Thank you to the author for the ARC opportunity 😉🖤)
