The House of Rust by Khadija Abdalla Bajaber

Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.
Attempted read for the Ursula K. LeGuin Prize for Fiction TBR.

I'm just massively burnt-out on the 2022 LeGuin Prize for Fiction nominees which, apart from Elder Race, have been consistently mediocre. I don't like the writing style, it feels too rough and "bumpy" for my liking. I can't bring myself to care for the little bit of plot I've encountered, 60 pages in, and there isn't enough in the way of native folklore or world-building to keep me trudging through. I'm just done.

PS: and yeah I guess it's a little ironic my stamina broke on the actual prize winner... 😂
