Crusader One by Jeffrey Wilson, Brian Andrews

2.0

I found the third offering of the Tier One novels very disappointing. While the action and battle scenes contuine to be top notch, everything else was lacking and, at times, eye roll inducingly bad. I found some of the characterizations of the antagonists a little too clichéd and devoid of nuance. The reliance on too many spy/thriller troupes (double agents, triple agents, honeypots, workplace tension, sexual tension, secret illness, jealousy, backdoor deals, skulduggery) made this volume very predictable with the "twist" being telegraphed long before it happened. I sincerely hope this volume was an anomaly and the rest of the series returns to the form of the first two books.
