The most interesting YA fantasy concept I’ve come across in ages. I loved the magic system and the building out of what being a siren not only looks like but feels like.
Part of me wishes the characters were aged up but at the same time Burton managed to make them feel realistically like late teenagers - headstrong, angsty, and prone to mistakes that they learn from without being overly childlike.
Very excited to read the sequel!
