Wild Side by Elsie Silver
5.0
I'm a sucker for an Elsie Silver novel. I don't need to look up a synopsis or check out a cover. If her name is attached, I've just gotta have it. I already can't wait to preorder Wild Card.
Tabitha Garrison is trying her best to be all the things to everyone. To her work, she's the boss, the chef and the person who runs the show. She's the heart of it all. To her parents, she's the good daughter and the conduit between them and their grandson, Milo, her sister's toddler. To her sister Erika, she's a scape goat, the person who will always get her out of trouble (no questions asked) and will save the day. But when Erika dies, Tabby is trying to hold it all together while figuring things out for Milo and the landlord, Rhys Dupris, isn't making that any easier by showing up with a will saying he should be Milo's guardian. Begrudgingly, the two try to work it out together to do what's best for Milo. But what might be best is a marriage of convenience that neither planned.
The depth of Rhys's character was SO well done. I loved how rich his backstory was and how it so obviously shaped his personality. I also really loved that the guy was a professional wrestler. I mean come on. When do you EVER see that in a book?! Tabby was obviously fan freaking tastic, and the way she cared for Rhys was just beautifully done. I couldn't read this quickly enough. It took all of 24 hours.
