2017 Re-Read: It's funny... I liked book #1 better during this re-read, and I liked this one less. I'm going to leave my rating as 5 stars, but it was more like 4 in this re-read. My issues were just standard middle book in a series issues... Slow moving, yet another cliffhanger, stuff like that. And now... On to book 3. I'm terrified. Pretty certain, based on past experience, that it will only break my heart. I plan to avoid reading it in public places just in case!

Original Review:

Note: This review is based on an ARC that I received of this through Netgalley.

I was worried about this series after reading book one. I always thought Fool & Fitz were gone forever, and for them to be coming back.. It had to be perfect or it would have ruined so much. When I read book one I liked it a lot, but it wasn’t quite love like I love the rest of the series. All my hopes shifted to book two. It had to be better!

And it was. It was SO SO Good. I loved it. This Felt like a Farseer novel in a way that book one didn’t. There were so many Amazing moments. I can’t even talk about them. I refuse to even put the best one under a spoiler for fear that some spoiler loving reader will read it. No. I will not allow that! Read it, experience it, double take it, page back a few pages, and read again. Then close the book, close your eyes, and just savor the emotion. Savor it hard core.

One mini-gripe, it’s another cliff hanger. What the heck? Usually I don’t mind cliff hangers, but ugh. I really am itching to read the next book in the series and this one hasn’t even *officially* been released yet!

All in all… 5 solid stars. I’m holding off on reading the 3rd book (when it’s released) before I add the series to my favorites list… But I feel very confident that it will get there.

I. Can’t. Wait!
