Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor by Lisa Kleypas

4.0

This is my second contemporary romance novel series by Lisa kleypas, the first one being the Travis. (I think she only has those 2 as contemporary series) which i give a solid 4/5.
It was a sweet romance novel, i love the introduction to the island. Which reminds me very much of where i grew up on in the east coast of Canada. I loved sweet little Holly and loved her part of this story, and her uncle mark i loved him right off the bat. The way he steeped for his niece and gave her a life she deserved, the way he didn't believe in any nonsense but still tried so hard to be sensitiveness to a 6 years old wants and needs, and the fact he was smoking hot. I love his tenderness with Maggie, and the way he waited for her to come on her terms not pushiness or dominating when she clearly couldn't of handle that type of man. which i have a feeling is what mark was before he took Holly into his life.
Maggie was also a great character, around my age and she has already been through so much with her first husband dying of cancer. She feels like that was chance and she had it lost it and that children and marriage just arent for her anymore. But with the help of Mark, and holly she comes along way and sees that she is worth loving again, that it doesnt take away the memories of her first husband. I loved how she also helped mark in ways with holly, and with his own self. the magic in this book is all around thats for sure!
my only complaint about this book, is that i wish it was longer and that we got more of Maggie and Mark. but i cant wait to read the rest of the series, and get to know friday harbour very well. thank you lisa keplays once again!
