The Diviners
by Libba Bray
Once the set up was over, the rest of the book was pretty predictable. However, it did keep me engaged. I have to say, though, Evie was constantly annoying me. She came across as very selfish and self-absorbed half the time, that it was hard for me to sympathize with her at moments. And of course, the love triangle. In this book, in particular, I was not happy that this love triangle was happening. I assumed it wouldn't go far when the first inklings of it started showing, but I was wrong. In a book, with so much else going on to keep you engaged, this seemed unnecessary and honestly, pretty annoying. That being said, I feel as if we only scratched the surface on some characters, like Henry where we are yet to know more about him. And so, the book leaves you wondering what more is left to come.
