I put this book off for so long because I had a feeling I’d want to dive into the whole series nonstop and I’m thinking that’s just what I’ll do! This felt very Hunger Games and dystopian meets sci-fi and Greek/Roman mythology. I’m not sure how it works, but it works. Trust me. The world building is done incredibly well and when I thought I had plot figured out, it took a left turn in a satisfying and engaging way. I’ve seen some critiques that it felt a little YA at times and I don’t disagree with that (mostly because the characters are so young) but I would never call this book immature. It was an action-packed way to start off a series and I’m looking forward to book two!
