When You Ask Me Where I'm Going by Jasmin Kaur

3.0

I wish half stars were possible because this is a solid three and a half. The book is divided into 6 parts, and while I personally loved the section entitled Muscle, and Skin and Light were strong contenders, the others couldn't hold up to it's prowess. Kaur definitely has moment of heart-wrenching reality and thought-provoking brilliance, but there are also large chunks of poems and prose that are lacking. I especially wasn't fond of the prose / short stories.

If you've read Nikita Gill or Rupi Kaur and are looking for something to read next, this is a good choice, but doesn't reach *quite* the same level of mastery.
