Blood of Dragons by Robin Hobb

4.0

4.5 ⭐️

As per Hobb’s other series, the Rain Wild Chronicles was wrapped up incredibly well (if a little rushed) in this final book.

This is definitely Hobbs weakest work to date, however through no fault of Hobb as a writer- unfortunately her prior three series are so critically lauded that the Rain Wild Chronicles, despite being very well realised, did not live up to the excellence we have previously seen from her.
The Rain Wild Chronicles contains all the aspects we have come to love from Hobb- fantastically written character arcs, an atmospheric world and wonderful prose.

From my research I can see this series was originally intended to be a duology instead of a quartet and I feel the decision to publish the four books is the biggest let down for this series. My continuous criticism for this series is the endings all felt incredibly rushed!

Wonderful to see the dragons in full force once again and I cannot wait to see how this affects Fitz and the Fool in the final series within the Realm of the Elderlings- need to emotionally prepare myself now
