The Last Goodbye
by Fiona Lucas
“Anna's world was shattered three years ago when her husband Spencer was killed in a tragic accident. On New Year's Eve, Anna calls Spencer's old phone just to hear his voicemail greeting. But to her surprise someone picks up.”
This is a really interesting concept for a romance book so I was intrigued by it. (I also follow the author on tiktok and she’s lovely) And I’m happy to say I wasn’t disappointed.
I really enjoyed this book. I dealt with some hard hitting subjects like grief and mental health and I think Fiona Lucas had done w great job at representing those things.
There’s also a sense of mystery in this book as you don’t know much about the character Brody to start with. I found myself wanting to keep going to find out more.
Antonia Beamish does a good job is the narrator but she was definitely a narrator that I had to warm into. But that is a personal preference thing. But didn’t do anything to lessen my enjoyment of the book
