A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
4.0

I read this back in 2018 and was underwhelmed giving it 3 stars. I still agree that the read itself isn't fantastic, but there is no denying the power and cultural impact of A Christmas Carol. When trying to think of stories that are more recreated, parodied, or referenced I can only think of Biblical stories, Romeo and Juliet, and The Odyssey as superiors. With how prevalent A Christmas Carol is in our culture (we all know the story and have likely seen several versions of it) the book itself is underwhelming in comparison. I'm bumping it up to 4 stars now due to it's importance to contributing to our Christmas traditions centuries later.
