Broken Wings by Shannon Dittemore

3.0

Like Angel Eyes, the story dragged for me at the start but did pick up speed later. It lacked the interesting revelations in Angel Eyes--that's not Dittemore's fault, but it made it a less interesting reads. And I felt it had many more speculative, extremely extra-Biblical elements regarding angels (as in, the author making up new classes of angels and demons, and even declaring certain extra-Biblical beliefs of many Evangelicals, such as Satan originally being God's worship leader, as truth). Given the modern-day setting and the teen audience, I'm not comfortable with those aspects. I don't see God's plan in what happened with Brielle's family, but maybe it comes together in Book 3?
