This book was such a delight to read about family, community, love, and the importance of human connection. Despite its vaguely sci-fi plot, this book is, at its heart, about human beings. I've consumed a lot of media about the end of the world, but nothing quite like this. This book was incredibly sweet and tender, even despite it being about the end of the world, and I'll be thinking about it for a long time after I've put it down. Gorgeous writing, stunning characters, and so so so unique.

Also, against all odds, my last book of 2024 was a banger. Talk about a miracle.
