The Sunshine Court by Nora Sakavic

I’m not sure how to rate this one. It’s the strangest fish out of water story I’ve encountered. On the one hand, removing the life or death stakes and having a former raven confronted with the real world is interesting, but Jean never super interested me as a character in the original trilogy. His grief over his sister was incredibly poignant though dang. He’s growing on me. But I feel like with lower stakes, the awkward plotting is more keenly felt. I think I’ll know better how to rate this one once I see where the next book(s) go.
