This is a short story about Bobbie's nephew David who finds himself in the middle of his own little war. He's been cooking drugs for local dealer as an escape from the demands of his family and university. But, when his friend goes missing, he takes it upon himself to save her and things get complicated fast.

Three Things:
1. I can appreciate that this story is about two people who are kind of adrift and in a transition state in life. The parallels between David and Bobbie were well done. And, I liked getting to see Bobbie dealing with the fallout of Caliban's War and the reactions of her family.
2. Teenage boys can be hormonal messes - I get that. But, I heard way too much about a teen kid's erections for my taste.
3. I do like that we got to see David two years in the future. It was nice to see that he kinda figured himself out. Even if the glimpse of LeeLee broke my heart a little bit.

So overall I have pretty mixed feelings about this little novella. One the one hand, I see what they were trying to do and the story they were trying to tell, but on the other hand it doesn't really seem to matter to the larger series. So I guess I would recommend this for completionists, but I also don't think you would be missing anything if you just skipped this.
