A really incredible account of humanity’s history. Yuval Noah Harari lays out everything in a very engaging chronological and subject based manner. There were a ton of parts here that made me rethink my view of the world, or at least look at things I took for granted more critically. The breadth of topics covered here is ridiculous, and for the most part I thought handled well. My biggest issue with the book is that for a factual recounting of history, Harari’s bias bleeds into his words pretty heavily. Also, a few statements he makes throughout the book are purposefully inflammatory. Since I shared similar views on a lot of the topics and ideas he shares this did not bother me too much, but even in cases where I did agree with him I thought he was overly dismissive of the other side(s) of the argument. Still, I really enjoyed this read and will definitely revisit several chapters.
