I didn't expect to like this book. Really, it didn't seem to deal with as many adult topics to me as the Twilight series does. Perhaps the violence is the same, even a degree higher. I enjoyed the exploration of the ranges of human nature. It does not seem as heartfelt as Twilight, but since it is considered science fiction, my expectation for a lot of emotional investment was low. Still, it exceeded my expectations.
