I was between writing or not writing a review on this book. but after being wholy unaffected by the bad reviews, I decided it was absolutely necessary to get my thoughts out.
The book is hard to get into, the characters are monsters and most of the time I'm so confused I feel like i’m just along for a ride….It was amazing. I felt wholly immersed in story, inside jakes head and the tension he feels. The writing is complicated (some say unnecessarily so) but it is so gorgeous. The writing is poetry-prose and uses the (kind of) regular events of the book to make profound observations on the human condition. its a book about a werewolf who is so very human ❤️
