Ugh, another Western classic ruined by the woke mind virus, this in a Feminist retelling of At the Mountains of Madness. The author can copy Lovecraft's employing narration as a device for horror and gives a good enough run at the bombastic, creepy, weird language, but it really misses the point of the original: she even gets the setting wrong, somehow missing that it is a tropical paradise within the Arctic. And I mean at least she understands that the starfish aren't -wait, hold on, I'm being handed something...
