Ramona and Her Mother by Beverly Cleary

4.0

I found so many of Ramona's thoughts in this book to be very relatable: being irritated at an apt comparison to Willa Jean when she is acting out, squeezing all of the toothpaste out of a fresh tube (from the middle!) as an outlet for anger, wanting to keep a cozy new pair of pajamas on underneath regular clothes like a fireman. Ramona's jealousy over Beezus and her mother bonding really hit home for me as a fellow younger sister. We all look back on our childhoods so fondly, but it's easy to forget how difficult and frustrating it can be as a kid lacking the full knowledge of the world that is gained through time.
