The book itself is an interesting look at the early life of Robert the Bruce, including the unrest in Scotland after the death of King Alexander. However I think it is let down slightly by the narration. Often at the start of chapters there are flashbacks which are shown using italics in the written version but the narrator makes no distinction so it can be confusing. He also has pretty much one voice (even his scottish and english accents are very similar) which can make it very difficult to know who is talking
