This was absolutely STUNNING. I'd never read romance before, I always looked down on it a bit to be completely honest, but this blew me away. It's healthy f/f representation, it's sensitive to the way white people disturbed the countries they traveled to despite the time it's set in, and the science, arts, and book publishing aspects are just plain fun and super fascinating. Highly, highly enjoyed this, and I admit that I even cried a tiny bit at the end, because what an exciting ending! If this sounds at all up your street, I encourage you to pick it up!!

EDIT: More nuanced thoughts after I got over my immediate excitement and noticed some flaws can now be found on my blog: https://rubyfruitreads.com/the-ladys-guide-to-celestial-mechanics-by-olivia-waite/ Still enjoyed the book very much overall :)
