The Dancer and The Masks by Bea Paige

3.0

First book from this author for me, 3.5 stars is probably most realistic.

To start: the writing is very good. I have no complaints from that perspective, there wasn't any weird phrases or constant mistakes, it was an easy and enjoyable book to read.

I also, per the author's warning note, liked the FMC. She is strong and confident.

I don't, however, find much redeeming in the MMCs. And I get that it's a dark romance, and I can definitely see the redemption arc being set up for them, but it's just so...constant. We barely get any moment of relief/affection for her, and they literally set her up to be SA'ed from someone outside of the group. Very little romance, some cracks of vulnerability here and there, it just didn't feel like enough.
