I don’t know what’s worse: the portrayal of especially Stephany, or how Darcy Bell managed to put so many factors in this plot, that should have been a huge help in making the plot interesting and thrilling, but somehow made everything boring and worse. I think this could have been a very exciting psychological thriller, but unfortunately, Bell just couldn’t swing it. Just when you get to a point in the story where you think it’s getting good, it’s somehow gets even worse, and you just want to throw the damn book into the wall and never pick it up again. But then you do, because of course you need to know what happened to Emily... But then you find out, and you want to throw that damn book into the wall again. And that’s basically how I felt throughout this whole book.
