The Third Kingdom by Terry Goodkind

2.0

I kept reading because I care about the characters, and the overall plot was still interesting enough.

I struggled at times through the chapter after chapter of fairly repetitive dialogue and alternating obvious and startling discoveries between two characters.

The good guys were on their game in this one, proactive and doing smart things. The villains picked up some of the bug afflicting their opponents in the Omen Machine and were more mixed.

At times Goodkind had his thriller pacing again, which moved at a better pace in OM, but the middle of this one bogged down a lot.

I still like the characters enough to continue, grudgingly. But everything else I've read this year was better. :(
