Another fine recommendation by my daughter. It is set in the same universe as Ms. Leckie's Ancillary series, but does not have any of the same chaaracters and seems to take place worlds away from Radch Empire. It follows the travails of Ingray, an adopted daugher of a powerful family who is trying to show her influencial and controling mother that she belongs. I enjoyed the politics of family (not terribly different than Game of Thrones in that regard) and the many plot twists in the book. I assume it is just the first of many books in this new series and look forward to the next chapter.
