"There were no tourists here. Only travelers." It was interesting to get this glimpse of early Rick Steves and his adventurous spirit. I too was lucky to have world adventures in my formative years that greatly shaped my life. Going in, I thought this would be a memoir, but it's an edited version of his actual travel journal from that time. I wish I had kept my own account of my formative travels (though it would not have nearly as much voice and style). Enjoyable for any fan of Rick Steves.
