Mama and Mommy and Me in the Middle by Nina LaCour

4.0

The universal experience of a child missing a parent when they are gone, and all of the emotions that go along with that, make this book worthy of sharing. The ability to show the full range of emotions, and embrace them instead of feeling bad about them, is important in SEL lessons. I appreciate that at school she has a diverse group of classmates feeling sad about missing loved ones for various reasons. As always, Kaylani Juanita's illustrations capture so much love and emotion.
