Cast in Honor by Michelle Sagara

3.0

In some respects this book really deserves higher than a 3 star rating. I always enjoy and love reading about Elantra, and am always pulled into the world by Sagara's prose and introspection (Especially in this book where she admits that not a whole lot of time has passed in the series so far). However, in this particular addition to the series I felt a little dissatisfied with certain elements of the story. Perhaps it is a personal preference where I wanted a little bit movement for Kaylin -- personal growth is hard to achieve when you are running from one crisis to another. Also in a series that succeeds often with convoluted plots, I had a little bit more trouble following along with what was actually happened.

All of this, of course, could be a result of the time-travel element which always make things a little tricky.
