TLDR: Marcos and Nate. Just.... such sweet, gentle, and caring MCs who deserve the world! The book hug I didn't know I needed while the world...*waves hands at everything*

Marcos. *sighs* Tortured by the events of Save the Game Marcos is struggling with anxiety, trying to control situations and keep people safe, and his low key touch aversion from childhood is now high key. When he meets Nate at a party and somehow feels 'safe' just for a few moments? How could he resist the chance for affection, even when he knows it could only be a one off.

Nate does things big! He cares big, he plays big, he goes bravely into the unknown. (I both love this for him and am insanely jealous!) But for all Nate's 'bigness' he appreciates the small things. He pays attention to people -- reading when they're uncomfortable or need support. He knows the value in a slower pace of living and community care from his ranch upbringing. When he realizes he might be bisexual? And that Marcos might be "the one"? He doesn't panic (okay! maybe a little...) but he takes time to think about it. To appreciate where he's at. And most importantly, to appreciate where Marcos is at... and does his darnedest to meet him there.

Nate does lovebomb Marcos a little, with texts and thoughtful gestures, because that is his love language! Not cause he's a creep.

Also, getting to see Max/Luke!? Adore. And to meet Micky (Nate's bff) more and see their friendship? Also too cute for words!

OTP is book 4 in the SCU hockey series, and while you could read it standalone I heavily suggest you read Save The Game first as the timelines overlap and effects some main plot points of OTP.
