I'm usually let down by sequels/second books in trilogies so I didn't expect this book to wow me like it did.

Zofia continues to be my favourite. The way that she and Enrique's friendship evolved throughout the book was utterly heartwarming, as well as the way that she entirely devotes herself to fighting for Laila as soon as finds out about her secret, I could've cried at the ferocity with which she found for a cure/fix to Laila's situation.

I was a bit give or take about Severin in the first book but it was so interesting to read his devolution (or evolution, depending on how you view it) throughout the book until the end where his thought processes and desire culminate in one of the most shocking moves I could've envisioned.

And OMG, that ending? I didn't wait long before I started the final book. Roshani Chokshi has a way of pulling you into a world that it feels impossible to leave.
