Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare, Robin Wasserman, Maureen Johnson, Sarah Rees Brennan

5.0

This is everything I didn't know I needed, I loved it so much more than any book from the original TMI series, it includes lots of wonderful characters I love and care for and you hear new stories from the past. I loved getting to know some minor characters a bit better and I even enjoyed reading about the new ones. I was seeing so many interactions with characters that I wanted from City of Heavenly Fire and it just made my heart so full. I also enjoyed seeing the shadow world from a mundane perspective, Simon manages to see the flaws and how they could be better and it's great to read about him questioning things that is the norm for those born into the shadow world.

It took me awhile to get into it but after the first two stories I was hooked, I think it's a very important book to read when reading the Shadowhunter Chronicles. The last story broke me so much but it was beautiful and I'm really excited to see what the future brings for the gang.
