Notes on Grief by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

3.0

A quick read, based on a New Yorker essay Adichie wrote after her father passed away in the summer of 2020. A lot of it is moving, and some of her observations really struck a chord with me, especially since I was going through a similar grieving process when I read them. But a lot of it is so personal that it felt more like a eulogy specifically about her father (which is fine) than more general "notes on grief" that might help others tackle the loss of their own loved ones. I'm not sure that's a fair expectation, but I came away disappointed nonetheless.
