Broken by Serena Akeroyd
4.0
This is my first Serena book & I really enjoyed it. I flew through it. If anyone knows me - I love taboo, I love forbidden and if it is sacrilegious I’m SOLD!
When Andrea is introduced she is someone who does what she feels is right. Helping those in need, being there for those who need it & then something happens and she loses faith - in the church, in what she believed. It’s when she sees Savio that she feels it’s a sign. When he is introduced he is questioning everything he believed in. He is broken. He was taken captive and endured horrific things, saw horrific things.
I would say Andrea is an unhinge in her own way. She’s truly believes she was put on earth for Savio. That is her twin flame. She followed him, stalked him you can say until it was the right time to finally introduce herself to him. Savio after his release from captivity has dealt with what he went through and penance of those in a different way - unhinge as well.
These two were different from other characters I’ve read. I liked how Andrea never made him feel like he was evil, a sinner, never need justification for what he did or has done. She understands in a way no one else and she reassures. He is accepting of her and what she believes she is. He falls for her but she’s always known he was hers
