I had always had Elton John on my radar, I loved his classic songs such as I'm Still Standing, Don't let the sun go down on me and Step into Christmas amongst many others. However it wasn't until Rocketman the Elton John Biopic hit the cinemas that I really fell in love with him and his music and story.

I knew nothing of his struggle with drugs and alcohol and his rocky relationships with his parents. I wanted to know more so finally got myself the audiobook loan through Borrow Box . It is read wonderfully by Taron Egerton and Elton John also reads a bit at the beginning and end. So lovely that Taron recorded it having played Elton in said film. I learnt so much about him as a person, he seems like a real genuine sweetheart and cares a lot for others and people he meets. He likes shopping as much as I do which made me smile how ever I have nowhere near his budget to spend. He has had many highs and plenty of lows and I enjoyed listening to it all. If you enjoyed watching Rocketman I think you would also enjoy hearing more about his past all the way up to the present day. I'd give it a a Rocketing 4 Lucy Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
