The Girl Who Talks to Ashes by Rachel Rener
3.0

I thought this was a very solid book! A quick and easy read. I really enjoyed the main premise and was super intrigues by the title! Lilah was abandoned and has a magic ability in a world where magic is not really accepted or understood and she needs to learn about herself and her past to find some answers. It's a great story that kept me reading! I enjoyed Jace and Lilah and Steven. They are true vibes and it made me feel good. Some parts did feel a tad altered to be that way instead of a natural occurrence and that threw me off a little bit, but I really liked it. I would recommend this to someone in lower high school, maybe 9th or 10th grade in USA. I also loved the apple timeline at the start of every chapter as a way of showing where you are, whether that be in the future or in the past or present. It was very nicely thought out and I enjoyed reading and also writing this review to ponder on it a bit more.

3/5 stars for a feel good story about magic abilities and adventures to finding out who you really are!
